I had to modify /etc/termcap to add the color_xterm capability in order to get color "by default". I would think you would want this capability "out of the box". Otherwise it's a pain to override the TERM setting all the time. >How-To-Repeat: Run xterm using color-capable apps like slrn or Mutt. >Fix: Either add color capability to the default termcap entry or (better yet) use Thomas' version intact.
