I been using freebsd since 2.2.2 and never had this problem of not getting a modem to linkup to my provider. in my logs i see Phase deflink too many LCP naks sent abandoning... this is on a 4.3-stable system as of june 30 or so... this occurs on both of my modems USR 56k and USR 33.6 models, both external. looks as if it is sending a configrequest to the provider and getting back a MRU and magic number etc... but then sends another config request and gets the same response until it finally hangs up and shows the error above in the log. maybe i am missing something in my ppp.conf file that allows the accept of the config request? I am just pulling at straws here people... anyone with some ppp experience that can make any suggestions. thanks again. __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!?
