    I think the latter commit won't trouble you but also benefits
linux_base-8 (only) users:

    This is indeed a ugly workaround. Maybe the true elegant solution
for linux_base* family is to provide a knob like USE_APACHE2 or
X_WINDOW_SYSTEM.
