On linuxflashplugin, I think that the messages in the Makefile should be modified to indicate that some flavours of -STABLE do not need to apply patches to src. I agree, however, that EXPIRATION_DATE should be removed. I think the time to deprecate this port is when it's no longer applicable to supported versions of FreeBSD.
