I have a lab of brand new diskless machines, running 2.1.6 -- The machines with the 21140-AB work fine with the stock 2.1.6 if_de.c , the ones with 21140-AC do not. I have remade a kernel with the if_de.c taken from netbsd; now the old cards seem not to work, and the new cards work fine up to the point where I try to access the nfs-mounted filesystem (as also Tim Tsai experienced. The machine is not completely dead though, it receives and responds properly to pings, arp requests etc. Maybe there is some mismatch with packet sizes (nfs might use maximum-sized packets) ? Also, a problem still remains in that I am unable to use the same driver for both the -AB and the -AC ... Help/comments appreciated Thanks Luigi -----------------------------+-------------------------------------- Luigi Rizzo | Dip. di Ingegneria dell'Informazione email: luigi@iet.unipi.it | Universita' di Pisa tel: +39-50-568533 | via Diotisalvi 2, 56126 PISA (Italy) fax: +39-50-568522 | http://www.iet.unipi.it/~luigi/ _____________________________|______________________________________
