AFAIK, Qt 1.33 is binary > and source compatible with 1.31. At least it seemed this way to me... It was Satoshi's wish, since we made the experience in the past, that sometimes things break. And with a growing ports collection you can't always test all packages that rely on something. So it's better to have some versions in parallel, than to break tings with one commit !
