System has Voodoo3 card and Samsung SyncMaster 760V 17" TFT monitor.

>Description:

xf86cfg attempts to put the screen into a low-res (640x480?) mode for
configuration (the lowest-common-denominator approach).

Monitor will have nothing to do with this; screen goes blank and monitor
displays a little box saying "Video mode not supported".

>How-To-Repeat:

Run the program on a system with a SyncMaster 760V monitor. (Other TFT
monitors may be similarly affected; anybody else with data points?)

>Fix:

A suggestion:

The configuration program for XFree86-3.3.6 works with this monitor.
Find whatever the new configuration program does differently in setting
up the display and change it to do it the old way?
