Your telnetd is probably taking ages timing out against a non-existant Kerberos server. Well, that's one possibility, anyway. :-) See the instructions on removing Kerberos, at: http://www.freebsd.org/FAQ/admin.html#AEN2024 Alternatively, if you're prepared to do another ``make world'', try making sure that "MAKE_KERBEROS4=yes" is commented out in /etc/make.conf.
