(and can't easily get to a machine to :find out since they are at the bottom of a stack) : :> Nate : :Cheers, :-Peter Since you have to modify NCPU anyway, I don't see there being much of a difference between compiling up an SMP kernel with NCPU=1, and compiling up a UP kernel. I think the question was (and the author can correct me if I'm wrong), simply whether it was possible to run FreeBSD on a duel-cpu motherboard which only had one cpu populated. The answer is yes.
