NEVER, NEVER, NEVER ever try to do this without proper registration, or
making sure that yer domain doesn't leak out, since you cannot be resolved
back unto.

If you are planning on making this an official domain for the Internet,
register it.

Aye, the root-servers and the local registries have NOT registered your
domain for the obvious reasons.

DNS is NOT a toy to try out without making sure that: 1) you are properly
registered, 2) you don't cause problems.

I run a full domain at home, but am careful not to use any of those names
without making sure that it's not causing trouble.

Also, if yer setting up yer own local, private named, make sure ye include
yer ISP's nameservers as forwarders.
