It's been locally re-badged as "Spirit Web-Cam", but the original label as as above. It's a bottom-end (320x240) digital camera come web-cam with a USB interface. The only positive (maybe) note is a reference to ITU-T V.8. Unfortunately my 4.5-PRERELEASE laptop can't make anything of it. usbd(8) reports uhub0: device problem, disabling port 1 uhub_explore: port=1 reset failed uhub0: device problem, disabling port 1 uhub0: device problem, disabling port 1 uhub0: device problem, disabling port 1 uhub0: device problem, disabling port 1 uhub0: port error, restarting port 1 "usbd -dvvvvv" reports: usbd: opened /dev/usb usbd: doing timeout discovery on /dev/usb0 usbd: processing event queue due to timeout on /dev/usb usbd: doing timeout discovery on /dev/usb0 usbd: processing event queue due to timeout on /dev/usb usbd: doing timeout discovery on /dev/usb0 ... I've not used any USB devices in this computer before (and don't have any other USB devices to test with). I can't see any ports that look promising. Has anyone heard of this camera? (Or any suggestions on how to probe it correctly - which will hopefully tell me enough to be able to ask sensible questions about drivers for it). [1] Part of my brother's on-going attempts to lure my son to the Dark Side - the camera's virtually useless without a computer.
