Several people suggested that I try a freebsd boot disk to see if its current development driver will boot my recalcitrant PowerEdge 2300's and reset their onboard aic7890's to a sane state. Unfortunately, visiting the freebsd site and looking at the supported hardware in their downloadable boot floppy image, it doesn't appear that the 7890 is supported (unless there is a perfectly reasonable lag between the image being upgraded and the documentation being upgraded:-). I have no idea how to go about building a freebsd boot floppy from current cam/aic7xx sources. Could any freebsd'rs with a current development image please post a URL? I am curious as to whether or not it will unstick my stuck devices... Thanks, rgb Robert G.
