Instead of disabling the authorization, you can try adding this line
to /usr/local/lib/X11/xdm/xdm-config:

---
DisplayManager*authName:        MIT-MAGIC-COOKIE-1
---


This is one of the things I mentioned earlier that I'd suggest to add to
the default installation.
