  I would consider this a big problem.  If your swap disk decides to go 
south while swapping, your system is screwed.  Why are you getting 
"Invalid message error" messages?

  You also have over a dozen drivers that you don't use.  If you are 
going to compile a new kernel, you might as well drop unneeded drivers.
