Kevin, I've also seen problems mounting removable media (USB memory sticks). The usb memory sticks (several different, all using msdos FAT) have been reported on insertion to messagelog + console but g-v-m did not show them. Manually mounting using gnome-mount did not work. Manually mounting using `mount -t msdosfs' worked. lshal reported the usb device but did not show the filesystem on slice 1 (da0s1). Reformatting the usb media (newfs_msdos) helped and hal and g-v-m are now seeing the volume again. I'm not quite sure if it has been the fault of the fsys on usb stick or if there has been a code change but the usb sticks were operable under Windows and a few days before also on FreeBSD 6-STABLE (rebuilding world+kernel every other day). HTH Volker
