The problem here, as I suspect is the case with a few other ports, is that makeinfo(1) from the new version of texinfo we have seems more strict than the previous version. It blows up on tex that seems to produce acceptable info files. It's a pity we can't just make --no-validate the default for makeinfo(1). :-) Ciao, Sheldon.
