If you had this working under windows and you were using PPPoE there, then you should be using it under FreeBSD. There is a spot in the handbook http://www.freebsd.org/handbook/pppoe.html that may help you out. I think I have you right here with your usage of VPN, if I am wrong, just disregard. :) Good luck.
