I will try running the Diagnostic ch= ecks, as pointed out by a few people on my machine and get back. I have one doubt though, I edited the file /etc/ttys. What does this file= configure?????=20 It contained the list of consoles. I changed the console type for ttyv0 f= rom cons25 to vt220 to try to change my console display to full-screen. B= ut after that my system wouldnt startup. So I had to boot off the install= ation disk into the rescue mode and change it back to cons25. Regards, Nikhil. -----Original Message----- From: Jonathan To: "Nikhil Kale" , freebsd-newbies@freebsd.org Date: Sat, 13 Sep 2003 11:43:06 -0500 Subject: Re: How to configure console to cover the entire screen? Nikhil: Any chance you are using an IBM ThinkPad? I had that problem too and solv= ed it by running the display self check, that is in the BIOS section. After running the screen check, the problem went away and the console was restore= d to full screen. I am running FreeBSD 4.8 on an IBM 600E. To get to the diagnostics checks, I held SHIFT F1 while the notebook booted. =09=09=09=09=09=09Kind regards, =09=09=09=09=09=09Jonathan _______________________________________________ freebsd-newbies@freebsd.org mailing list http://lists.freebsd.org/mailman/listinfo/freebsd-newbies To unsubscribe, send any mail to "freebsd-newbies-unsubscribe@freebsd.org"
