Now I get "invalid partition" messages on bootup. Does anyone know how to fix this? I am able to get the system to run with manual intervnetion, but reboot fails. Here is more detail on what happens at boot: 3ware Storage Controller BIOS BEXX 1.03.00.027 ARRAY UNIT 0 STRIPE 64K 120.0 GB PORT 0 ST340823A 40.0GB PORT 1 ST340823A 40.0GB PORT 2 ST340823A 40.0GB 3ware BIOS installed successfully Adaptec AHA-2940 Ultra/Ultra w/ BIOS v1.25 SCSI ID:LUN NUMBER #:# 0:0 - SEAGATE ST34527N - Drive D: (81h) SCSI ID:LUN NUMBER #:# 2:0 - SEAGATE ST34527N - Drive 82h SCSI ID:LUN NUMBER #:# 3:0 - TEAK CD-R58S SCSI BIOS installed successfully invalid partition invalid partition No /boot/loader >>FreeBSD/i386 BOOT Default: 0:ad(0,a)/kernel boot: invalid partition No /kernel >>FreeBSD/i386 BOOT Default: 0:ad(0,a)/kernel boot: At this point if type in 1:ad(0,a)/kernel the boot will start to proceed. Then it will stop with: no devsw (majdev=30 bootdev=0x020001e) Manual root filesystem specification: : mountroot> Now I can type ufs:/dev/da0s1a and the machine will come up. What do I have to do so that machine will boot normally? Thanks for your help, Matt __________________________ http://www.invision.net/ _______________________ Matthew E.
