No, that would make it more dangerous. It's always available as an lkm. I have no problems with it mounted read-only for small DOS slices (90MB and 256MB, cluster sizes 2K and 4K). There may be a problem for cluster sizes > 16K (DOS slices > 1G). MAXBSIZE is only 16K. ufs doesn't allow mounting file systems with a block size larger than this, but msdosfs allows any cluster size up to 255 sectors. Bruce
