I got the libdrm updated and then tried to build xorg again. It crashed again on dri, so I did a rm -rf /usr/ports/*/*/work/ and then tried it again. The build of xorg then comleted after about 30 minutes. But when I tried to startx it crashed. There was something in the error messages about my /etc/X11/xorg.conf so I erased it as well as my /root/xorg.conf.new and then did Xorg -configure I was then able to startx but there is no window manger running. I was running the old xterm with the little green and white windows....I know I'm a real simpleton but I kind of like that simple little interface and was going to wait until I got some other things up and running before moving to Gnome or KDE or another window manager. So can you please help me with what I need to do to assign a window manager to run when startx is run? Thanks again. Your assistance is appreciated.
