Still the same problem. I i mount a stiffy ( install stiffy i made with 2.2.7 ) in FreeBSD 3.1 it buggers up the stiffy. I did the followinf : --> mount /dev/fd0 /mnt then i did --> mount which replied : /dev/wd0s1a on / (local, writes: sync 830 async 3918) procfs on /proc (local) /dev/fd0 on /mnt (local, writes: sync 4 async 95) ( even though i did not write anything ) then i tried : --> umount /dev/fd0 which gave : ( if i had write protection on ) umount: /mnt: Input/output error if i took of the write protection then there was no errors, but the stiffy wont boot after that. We have 5 FreeBSD 3.1-Release boxes installed here at work, and i tried 3 of them, the all buggered up the stiffies, or wont umount if the stiffies was write protected. Seems like a major bug to me. Don't know. Any suggestions ??? --- Johan Kruger Electronic Engineer - Developement Engineer - Sysadmin Nanoteq South Africa Phone +27 12 6651338, Fax +27 12 6651343 Email jk@nanoteq.co.za To Unsubscribe: send mail to majordomo@FreeBSD.org with "unsubscribe freebsd-questions" in the body of the message
