I finally got around to upgrading X.org on my P3 laptop. It took a few days (with some time spent waiting at dialog screens), but it went off without a hitch using the excellent directions in UPDATING and the mergebase script. I just want to say a big thank you again to everyone involved in making the upgrade not only possible but relatively painless. Regards, JN
