I tried to install gnome2-power-tools via portupgrade -n gnome2-power-tools, and it failed with (tail of log) : c++ -DHAVE_CONFIG_H -I. -I. -I../../.. -I.. -I../../../include -I../../../extensions/error-viewer -DORBIT2=1 -D_THREAD_SAFE -I/usr/l ocal/include/libxml2 -I/usr/local/include -I/usr/local/include/atk-1.0 -I/usr/local/include/glib-2.0 -I/usr/local/lib/glib-2.0/inclu de -I/usr/local/include/bonobo-activation-2.0 -I/usr/local/include/orbit-2.0 -I/usr/local/include/libart-2.0 -I/usr/local/include/li bbonobo-2.0 -I/usr/X11R6/include/libglade-2.0 -I/usr/X11R6/include/gtk-2.0 -I/usr/X11R6/lib/gtk-2.0/include -I/usr/X11R6/include -I/ usr/X11R6/include/pango-1.0 -I/usr/local/include/freetype2 -I/usr/X11R6/include/epiphany-1.2 -I/usr/X11R6/include/libgnomeui-2.0 -I/ usr/X11R6/include/libbonoboui-2.0 -I/usr/X11R6/include/gnome-vfs-2.0 -I/usr/X11R6/lib/gnome-vfs-2.0/include -I/usr/X11R6/include/gno me-vfs-module-2.0 -I/usr/X11R6/include/gconf/2 -I/usr/X11R6/include/libgnome-2. 0 -I/usr/X11R6/include/libgnomecanvas-2.0 -DSHARE_DIR =\"/usr/X11R6/share/gnome/epiphany-extensions\" -include /usr/X11R6/include/mozilla/mozilla-config.h -I/usr/local/include -I/usr/X11 R6/include -D_THREAD_SAFE -fno-rtti -O -pipe -c validate.cpp -Wp,-MD,.deps/validate.TPlo -fPIC -DPIC -o .libs/validate.lo In file included from validate.cpp:27: /usr/local/include/OpenSP/config.h:242: warning: `PACKAGE_BUGREPORT' redefined ../../../config.h:75: warning: this is the location of the previous definition /usr/local/include/OpenSP/config.h:245: warning: `PACKAGE_NAME' redefined ../../../config.h:78: warning: this is the location of the previous definition /usr/local/include/OpenSP/config.h:248: warning: `PACKAGE_STRING' redefined ../../../config.h:81: warning: this is the location of the previous definition /usr/local/include/OpenSP/config.h:251: warning: `PACKAGE_TARNAME' redefined ../../../config.h:84: warning: this is the location of the previous definition /usr/local/include/OpenSP/config.h:254: warning: `PACKAGE_VERSION' redefined ../../../config.h:87: warning: this is the location of the previous definition validate.cpp:42: syntax error before `(' validate.cpp:48: syntax error before `for' gmake[4]: *** [validate.lo] Error 1 gmake[4]: Leaving directory `/usr/ports/www/epiphany-extensions/work/epiphany-e xtensions-0.8.2/extensions/error-viewer/opensp' gmake[3]: *** [all-recursive] Error 1 gmake[3]: Leaving directory `/usr/ports/www/epiphany-extensions/work/epiphany-e xtensions-0.8.2/extensions/error-viewer' gmake[2]: *** [all-recursive] Error 1 gmake[2]: Leaving directory `/usr/ports/www/epiphany-extensions/work/epiphany-e xtensions-0.8.2/extensions' gmake[1]: *** [all-recursive] Error 1 gmake[1]: Leaving directory `/usr/ports/www/epiphany-extensions/work/epiphany-e xtensions-0.8.2' gmake: *** [all] Error 2 *** Error code 2 Stop in /usr/ports/www/epiphany-extensions. *** Error code 1 Stop in /usr/ports/www/epiphany-extensions. *** Error code 1 Stop in /usr/ports/x11/gnome2-power-tools. *** Error code 1 Stop in /usr/ports/x11/gnome2-power-tools. ** Command failed [exit code 1]: /usr/bin/script -qa /tmp/portupgrade98128.0 make reinstall ** Fix the installation problem and try again. ** Listing the failed packages (*:skipped / !:failed) ! x11/gnome2-power-tools (install error) ---> Packages processed: 0 done, 0 ignored, 0 skipped and 1 failed This is a 4.10-stable system, with gnome2 and gnome2-fifth-toe successfully installed. Also, when I try to change window managers, following gnome 2.6 FAQ #9, it fails. When I enter "killall metacity; sawfish &" the screen will flash, there terminal window will close and I get the message "You can only have one window manager at a time". Has this procedure changed?? Finally, I tried to follow the /usr/ports/UPDATING, the script returns nothing to be updated for 5.8.4 and in addition tries to look in a non-existant 5.8.2 local perl dir. I don't think this is your issue, but since it was mentioned on this list I thought I'd report it here. Thanks for all the good work and assistance in porting gnome to BSD. Jim Ballantine
