Other options > besides buying another modem? Well, if you check http://www.o2.net/~gromitkc/20001207a.html, you will find that it lists that modem as a winmodem. Linux has a few winmodems that it will support and calls them linmodems. The Aztech MDP3880-W is listed as a winmodem and even Linux doesn't support it. Your choice is to buy a real modem. That would be a modem with an OK in the left column. A lot of people purchase externals so that when one gets wedged, you don't have to shut the computer off to reset the modem.
