If 4.x follows the pattern of 3.x then shortly after the 4.0 release there will be a branch which will become 4-STABLE and the head of the tree (-current) will become 5.0. I'd point you to /usr/share/misc/bsd-family/tree, but it's woefully out of date in -stable. Since it's not version dependent, I wonder if it's possible to slide the branch tags (i.e. RELENG_3) forward automagicaly. As it stands, 3.3 doesn't know about 3.2 or 3.3.
