Yes, certainly.

After recent update both Xorg autoconfiguration backends, UDEV and DEVD
prefers evdev over previous mouse/keyboard protocols if kernel is
compiled with EVDEV_SUPPORT option enabled.

As GENERIC kernels enable this option since 12.1, xf86-input-libinput or
xf86-input-evdev is required to handle inputs on current Xorg running on
stock 12.1 kernel.
