Ok, so most most people have heard that Athena menus won't come up if Num_Lock is on. The question is, how do you turn it off automatically? Setting led states with "xset led" doesn't work (in only turns my Scroll_Lock on and off), and you can't use xmodmap to turn Num_Lock off as a modifier, because xmodmap wants the key to be released before it will do the change, so it goes into a loop. kbdcontrol doesn't seem to have anything relevant. Is there anything I can do to configure my machine on boot (or in xdm) so that Num_Lock will be turned _off_ by default? (Please respond to the below address, as the machine I'm sending this mail from is not receiving mail at the moment.) Steven steveng@sybase.com
