I recently had a crash, and had to install a new harddrive, so consequently, I just re-installed my 2.1.7 stuff all over again. I backed up my /var/home directory as well as /etc. My question is this... If I restore the tarred files I made for /home and /etc, I know I will get the home directories and group pid and uid's back, but what about mail? I didn't backup /var/mail. Will that cause me problems. As I have about 50 users on this machine, I don't want to create confusion, so would I be better off to just add all users again so that the accounts are created with the proper mail files, or will restoring /var/home fix that for me? Thanks for the help! ........................................ . Bill Beavers, Technology Coordinator . .
