Just add it to GENERIC and maybe turn on automatic firmware download also? Their is nothing so flustering than not being able to load due to raid card. Step one for some people is try a different OS. and they might not know enough to even check the support page -mjm BTW a quick work around is take one on the drives off the raid(or a spare) and use the motherboard connection, load the OS, build the driver, boot the raid and copy the OS over to it and boot into it, the disk goes back onto the raid as HOT spare. PITA I know. PSS. bad user expreance people - Vinod.... --- Vinod Kashyap wrote: > > -----Original Message----- > > From: owner-freebsd-current@freebsd.org > > [mailto:owner-freebsd-current@freebsd.org] On > Behalf Of ke.han > > Sent: Tuesday, November 08, 2005 5:24 AM > > To: freebsd-current@freebsd.org > > Subject: 3ware 9550sx driver for freeBSD 6 amd64 > ?? > > > > Does anyone have the latest compiled driver, > twa.ko, for the > > 9550SX on freeBSD 6 amd64? > > I have a problem where I cannot compile the driver > without > > installing freeBSD 6 to my new server and cannot > install to > > the server without the compiled driver. > > The source can be downloaded from a link at the > end of this page: > > http://www.3ware.com/KB/article.aspx?id=14546 > > > > The driver integrated into FreeBSD 6.0 does not know > about SX > controllers. > So, you cannot install FreeBSD 6.0 on SX.
