I very like bhyve and the new iSCSI seem to be great too.

The fact that bhyve does not attempt to manage the iSCSI directly is a real
win here IMO for example see

what happens when the designers of a cloud platform decide to rely on
the hyperv to provide the services.   Note despite these flaws openstack is
still the best game in town for data center level cloud computing [it needs
help of the data center though].
