Hi People,

Forgive me for being dense here, as I'm sure there is something I'm doing
wrong. However, as I've only just got this machine and I'm still learning.

I've got a Tyan Thunder S1836DLUAN with 2 PII 450mhz.

The board comes with a Adaptec 7895, and I've added a Promise Ultra33
UDMA disk controller.

Currently all my disks are IDE, and the only scsi device is a DAT tape.

The problem I'm having is; when I boot with the disk attached to the Promise
card, I get the following errlr message from the aic7xxx driver :-

Couldn't register IRQ 10, ignoring.

However, if I move the disk to the i builtin IDE controller, it correctly
sees the 7895 and my DAT drive.

With the disk connected to the promise card, The 7895 is seen first by
the system when booting, but doesn't install it's bios. Then the Promise
card installs it's bios.

However, when the disk is plugged into the builtin controller, neither
the promise or the 7895 install there bios.

I've rtied the reverse_scan option, but that didn't appear to make any
difference.

I loaded the pre-10 patch and am running on 2.0.35

I need the Promise card to work, and to use it, the disks have to be
connected to it, rather than the builtin card.

Can anyone help please?

I've attached below the output from :-

cat /proc/pci
cat /proc/interupts
syslog

Thanks

Andy Monks
