When the system restarts, a crash-dump found on the specified device will typically be stored in the /var/crash directory by the savecore(8) program. ================ >How-To-Repeat: n/a ================ >Fix: dumpdev (str) If not set to ''NO'' then dumpon(8) is used to cause kernel crash dumps to be saved in the (usually swap) device specified as _value_. When the system restarts, a crash dump found on the specified device will be stored by the savecore(8) program using "savecore_flags" in the directory specified by the "dumpdir" value. Not effective unless crash occurs after booting with this set. See crash(8) manual for related info. dumpdir (str) Specifies the directory where a crash dump will be saved by savecore(8) during a post-crash-dump OS boot (if the directory exists). See "dumpdev". savecore_flags (str) The options (with leading "-") for savecore(8) to use during post-crash-dump OS boot. See "dumpdev". >Release-Note: >Audit-Trail: >Unformatted: To Unsubscribe: send mail to majordomo@FreeBSD.org with "unsubscribe freebsd-doc" in the body of the message
