Some details about the errors you get might help. What is the graphics card=
 that you use?
What have you done so far in your attempts to get X to work. AFAIK, it _rar=
ely_ works on the fly.
While this list might help, there is also a newbie@XFree86.org list that ha=
s more of the X stuff ..
