The new version of asterisk was released five days ago. If you check the port, you see that it has a lot of patch files to make it work under FreeBSD. If you want to support sobomax@ in it, you should just download the new tarballs and see if the patches still apply and if not, describe what could be done to make them working again. Sending your experience with the 1.0.6 port to sobomax@ is much more helpful than asking him when it will be upgraded.
