Why bother adding new options or features, or upgrades to the base system whatsoever? Surely if people want an upgraded piece of software, or a new option to a program, they can install the port? Look, it's quite simple - it doesn't cost anyone anything to add it to the system ls. It adds a miniscule amount to binary size, and it won't suddenly become default. It _will_ mean one less port for me and many others to install. Actually, I'm working for gnuls/ls-F-compatible colours for our ls, since that's the "standard". And for all the space-mongers, I'll personally ifdef it for you.
