Linux and FreeBSD are wayyyyyyyyyyy different. Yes they do use some of the same software but they are very different. Also, Linux is just a kernel and FreeBSD is an enitre OS. Both support about the same hardware but Linux usually has more support. Theres just so much to list. FreeBSD has things like the ports collection and CVS uping of the kernel (a way of getting updates). A different filesystem and cron based security checking.
