Hello Wilko, Thanks .. so basically I should get rid of this card for now and use something that works under 3.3.6? Once support for TGA devices comes abound I can put the old card back in there .. or maybe I can keep them both and just have the monitor connected to the one that works. The video card is quite large .. so I dont want to disturb it :) ... All suggestions welcome as well as cards that will work under FreeBSD/Alpha X11. Maybe we can compile a list of people who are on this list and make it an unofficial X11 FAQ of some sort. Thanks in advance, Ramon Crespo -----Original Message----- From: Wilko Bulte [mailto:wkb@freebie.xs4all.nl] Sent: Monday, June 18, 2001 6:13 PM To: Crespo, Ramon Cc: 'freebsd-alpha@freebsd.org' Subject: Re: XF86 4.x on FreeBSD/Alpha On Mon, Jun 18, 2001 at 06:10:48PM -0400, Crespo, Ramon wrote: > Hello All, > > according to this page http://www.xfree86.org/4.1.0/Status10.html#10 .. > Support (accelerated) for the DEC 21030 TGA 8 plane, 24 plane and 24 plane > 3D chips (on Alpha platforms) is provided by the XF86_TGA server .. Problem is that TGA cards are not yet supported as console devices so you will be driving blind (I guess) while X has not yet [been] started. -- | / o / / _ Arnhem, The Netherlands email: wilko@FreeBSD.org |/|/ / / /( (_) Bulte http://www.FreeBSD.org To Unsubscribe: send mail to majordomo@FreeBSD.org with "unsubscribe freebsd-alpha" in the body of the message
