As The Boeing Company readies its processes for the new millennium, it is necessary that we understand the Y2K Readiness of the hardware and software assets we purchased from your company.Since the "Y2K bug" could impact the functional performance of these assets, we request that you provide current information regarding their Y2K Readiness.

The Y2K Readiness information you return to us will be made available to the entire Boeing community via an internal web-site.By completing the enclosed Product Readiness Questionnaire, you will have provided the information we need to assist us in achieving our Y2K readiness goal.

This questionnaire has been formulated solely to elicit Y2K Readiness data relating to products offered by your company.Boeing will not use your response as a basis for asserting that your company is in default of any of its obligations under any present or future purchase contracts with our company.Boeing does, however, reserve the right to seek alternate suppliers, subcontractors or other sources of the affected goods or services, or take other steps it deems necessary to mitigate the impact to our overall Year 2000 readiness efforts, if and to the extent your responses warrant such action.This request will not obligate Boeing to issue any purchase contract or to pay any costs incurred as a result of this request.

Section A: General Instructions

Please adhere carefully to the following instructions in preparing your response to this request for Y2K Readiness information.

Responsibilities

1. Carefully read the entire Product Readiness Questionnaire package.

2. Verify that all enclosures are included with this package.If your package is missing any documents or you have any questions, immediately contact Sandra L Grindle at (253)657-8798.

3. Forward this Product Readiness Questionnaire package to the authorized Y2K representative within your organization for disposition.

4. Authorized Y2K representative provides requested Y2K Assessment information using the descriptions below and the Product Readiness Questionnaire (Section B - Product Readiness Questionnaire).Requested information is provided by 1) checking the appropriate box on that best describes Y2K Readiness of each listed asset, and 2) providing additional comments as would prove useful.





Section A: General Instructions

RDY - "Year 2000 Ready"- Asset accurately performs leap year calculations and processes date/time data (including, but not limited to, calculating, comparing, and sequencing) from, into, and between the twentieth and twenty-first centuries.Furthermore, this asset, when used in combination with other assets, accurately processes date/time data.

NRY - "Not Ready - Fix Required".Asset NOT ready (see definition of "ready" above) in delivered condition.May be made Y2K ready with provided action(s):


DSN
- "Date Sensitive No Action" - Asset is not or will not be made "Year 2000 Ready.Describe failure mode(s) and any available work-a-rounds.

NDS - "Not Date Sensitive" - Asset does not use, process, receive or transmit dates or time in any manner, either internally or externally.

ANS - "Asset not supported".Asset is no longer supported.The asset may or may not process dates correctly.

NSP - "No Statement Provided".Unable or unwilling to make a statement on the Y2K Readiness of the asset.







5. Authorized Y2K representative provides additional requested Y2K Assessment information by responding to the specific questions documented in Section C.

6. Review the Product Readiness Questionnaire package to validate the completeness of the Section B - Product Readiness Questionnaire and Section C Additional Requested Information.

7. Your response to the Product Readiness Questionnaire should be non-confidential.If it is necessary to disclose proprietary information to Boeing in your response, it must be clearly identified as "Proprietary Information" and will be used by Boeing solely to evaluate product readiness.

8. Obtain the signature of the Company Officer authorized to certify the accuracy of your responses.See: Section B for signature block.

9. All responses to this Product Readiness Questionnaire are due by close of business, 3/8/99.

10. Submit one (1) hard copy of the entire Product Readiness Questionnaire response by Fax or Mail.
