To be honest, the response in comment #5 is why the images were bumped to 3=
0GB.

As the base system grows, these images will also need to grow, as is also t=
he
case for the amd64 disc1.iso for example.  This was also the case for arm SD
card images as well.

Having said that, I personally do not see a "bug" here, necessarily, as a 3=
0GB
images is eventually going to be increased at some point even futher.
