Hopefully someone can give me a hand.

I have attempted the OS install for version 2.1.7 and 2.2.2 with the same
result. Following a seamingly error free install and successful reboot
"Panic: unable to mount root"

I am at a loss. Here is a synopsis of my system.

P-133 Intel, 64MB RAM, ASUS TX97E MotherBoard
Adaptec1542CP, 1 x 1GB IBM HD (SCSI)
1x345 MB HD (IDE)
NE2000 NIC
3COM Fast Etherlink XL NIC

Partitioned as follows: SCSI HD	-> 500MB (FAT16)
					-> 500MB (unused)
			IDE HD		-> 345MB (unused)

This system dual boots Win 95 and FreeBSD (hopefully)

I have attempted the install with various NICs/Controllers disabled
(software disabled through Novce install) to no availl.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. I am in dire need of learning UNIX.

Thanks,
Mario Poier
