In cmos I have it set for LBA mode and these default to 1244/255/63 for the cylinders/head/sector settings (I have always used the cmos suggestion whith other drives in the past) 10.24 gig The drive documentation says 16383/16/63 8.45 gig for normal mode and 10.24 in LBA mode FreeBSD 3.1 thinks 19841/16/63 9.765 gig I think the size issue is causing my problem when I try to make it into 3 (wd2s1e, f, g) slices, the first 2 work but the third says: an error mount /dev/wd2s1g/usr3 : invalid argument I am doing the work from /stand/sysinstall I am trying to setup two 4 gig slices (this works) and the remainder on the third slice (always fails). I am confused to the highest degree. Could someone with more knowledge help and offer suggestions on how I can get the full drive size setup. I am trying to add a 10.24 gig hard drive (fujitsu MPC3102ATE) to a new box running 3.1 and all is well except I am getting lots of confusing feedback and can not seem to get the drive sliced to use the full size.

In cmos I have it set for LBA mode and these default to 1244/255/63 for the cylinders/head/sector settings
(I have always used the cmos suggestion whith other drives in the past)
10.24 gig

The drive  documentation says 16383/16/63    8.45 gig for normal mode and 10.24 in LBA mode

FreeBSD 3.1 thinks 19841/16/63    9.765 gig

I think the size issue  is causing my problem when I try to make it into 3 (wd2s1e, f, g) slices, the first 2 work but the third says:

an error mount /dev/wd2s1g/usr3  : invalid argument

I am doing the work from /stand/sysinstall

I am trying to setup two 4 gig slices (this works) and the remainder on the third slice (always fails).

I am confused to the highest degree.  Could someone with more knowledge help and offer suggestions on how I can get the full drive size setup.

Thanks!!
