Anyone running proftpd should check out recent bugtraq articles. Specifically http://geek-girl.com/bugtraq/1999_1/0564.html and responses. wu-ftpd was described as 'probably vulnerable' without specifics. Several other ftpd's were discussed, though not freebsd's native one.
