Please review this patch as I'd like to commit it soon. Also, I'm not 100% sure what to do about libdes.so.3, so if you have commments on that please let me know. Other than that, the patches should be close to commitable. I'm rebuilding my system now to see if this works. But I have to do it twice due to my installworld this am :-).
