I have Z505S and in my dmesg: sio0 at port 0x3f8-0x3ff irq 4 on isa0 sio0: type 16550A sio1 at port 0x2f8-0x2ff irq 3 on isa0 sio1: type 16550A so sio0 - is standart com-port and sio1 - InfraRED port, it works well with lxtools (toolkit for connection HP200LX via InfraRED) in your config: > sio1: configured irq 3 not in bitmap of probed irqs 0 > sio1: irq maps: 0x1 0x1 0x1 0x1 > sio1: probe failed test(s): 0 1 2 4 6 7 9 > sio1 failed to probe at port 0x2f8-0x2ff irq 3 on isa0 you tring to found sio1 on 0x2f8 but you need to search it on 0x3e8 or change parametr int your BIOS -- TSB Russian Express, Moscow Vladimir B.
