Can anyone explain this? What follows are two snapshots of my ifconfig -a output taken a few minutes apart. You'll notice that less tun devices are displayed when more slip connections are active! Any ideas!? The system is 2.1.0-950726-SNAP. Thanks! ep0: flags=863<UP,BROADCAST,NOTRAILERS,RUNNING,SIMPLEX> mtu 1500 inet 192.172.250.8 netmask 0xffffff00 broadcast 192.172.250.255 ether 00:20:af:0c:25:2a lo0: flags=8009<UP,LOOPBACK,MULTICAST> mtu 16384 inet 127.0.0.1 netmask 0xff000000 sl0: flags=c011<UP,POINTOPOINT,LINK2,MULTICAST> mtu 552 inet 199.84.157.19 --> 199.84.157.120 netmask 0xffffff00 sl1: flags=d011<UP,POINTOPOINT,LINK0,LINK2,MULTICAST> mtu 552 inet 199.84.157.2 --> 199.84.157.143 netmask 0xffffff00 sl2: flags=c011<UP,POINTOPOINT,LINK2,MULTICAST> mtu 552 inet 199.84.157.3 --> 199.84.157.142 netmask 0xffffff00 sl3: flags=d011<UP,POINTOPOINT,LINK0,LINK2,MULTICAST> mtu 552 inet 199.84.157.4 --> 199.84.157.84 netmask 0xffffff00 sl4: flags=c011<UP,POINTOPOINT,LINK2,MULTICAST> mtu 552 inet 199.84.157.5 --> 199.84.157.20 netmask 0xffffff00 sl5: flags=c011<UP,POINTOPOINT,LINK2,MULTICAST> mtu 552 inet 199.84.157.6 --> 199.84.157.65 netmask 0xffffff00 sl6: flags=c011<UP,POINTOPOINT,LINK2,MULTICAST> mtu 552 inet 199.84.157.7 --> 199.84.157.78 netmask 0xffffff00 sl7: flags=d011<UP,POINTOPOINT,LINK0,LINK2,MULTICAST> mtu 552 inet 199.84.157.8 --> 199.84.157.70 netmask 0xffffff00 sl8: flags=d011<UP,POINTOPOINT,LINK0,LINK2,MULTICAST> mtu 552 inet 199.84.157.9 --> 199.84.157.22 netmask 0xffffff00 sl9: flags=d011<UP,POINTOPOINT,LINK0,LINK2,MULTICAST> mtu 552 inet 199.84.157.10 --> 199.84.157.26 netmask 0xffffff00 sl10: flags=c011<UP,POINTOPOINT,LINK2,MULTICAST> mtu 552 inet 199.84.157.11 --> 199.84.157.116 netmask 0xffffff00 sl11: flags=d011<UP,POINTOPOINT,LINK0,LINK2,MULTICAST> mtu 552 inet 199.84.157.12 --> 199.84.157.121 netmask 0xffffff00 sl12: flags=c011<UP,POINTOPOINT,LINK2,MULTICAST> mtu 552 inet 199.84.157.13 --> 199.84.157.155 netmask 0xffffff00 sl13: flags=c011<UP,POINTOPOINT,LINK2,MULTICAST> mtu 552 inet 199.84.157.14 --> 199.84.157.45 netmask 0xffffff00 sl14: flags=c010<POINTOPOINT,LINK2,MULTICAST> mtu 552 sl15: flags=c010<POINTOPOINT,LINK2,MULTICAST> mtu 552 tun0: flags=51<UP,POINTOPOINT,RUNNING> mtu 1500 inet 199.84.158.1 --> 199.84.158.16 netmask 0xffffff00 tun1: flags=10<POINTOPOINT> mtu 1500 tun2: flags=10<POINTOPOINT> mtu 1500 tun3: flags=10<POINTOPOINT> mtu 1500 tun4: flags=10<POINTOPOINT> mtu 1500 tun5: flags=10<POINTOPOINT> mtu 1500 tun6: flags=10<POINTOPOINT> mtu 1500 tun7: flags=10<POINTOPOINT> mtu 1500 tun8: flags=10<POINTOPOINT> mtu 1500 tun9: flags=10<POINTOPOINT> mtu 1500 tun10: flags=10<POINTOPOINT> mtu 1500 ... a little later ... ep0: flags=863<UP,BROADCAST,NOTRAILERS,RUNNING,SIMPLEX> mtu 1500 inet 192.172.250.8 netmask 0xffffff00 broadcast 192.172.250.255 ether 00:20:af:0c:25:2a lo0: flags=8009<UP,LOOPBACK,MULTICAST> mtu 16384 inet 127.0.0.1 netmask 0xff000000 sl0: flags=c011<UP,POINTOPOINT,LINK2,MULTICAST> mtu 552 inet 199.84.157.19 --> 199.84.157.120 netmask 0xffffff00 sl1: flags=d011<UP,POINTOPOINT,LINK0,LINK2,MULTICAST> mtu 552 inet 199.84.157.2 --> 199.84.157.76 netmask 0xffffff00 sl2: flags=c011<UP,POINTOPOINT,LINK2,MULTICAST> mtu 552 inet 199.84.157.3 --> 199.84.157.142 netmask 0xffffff00 sl3: flags=d011<UP,POINTOPOINT,LINK0,LINK2,MULTICAST> mtu 552 inet 199.84.157.4 --> 199.84.157.84 netmask 0xffffff00 sl4: flags=c011<UP,POINTOPOINT,LINK2,MULTICAST> mtu 552 inet 199.84.157.5 --> 199.84.157.20 netmask 0xffffff00 sl5: flags=c011<UP,POINTOPOINT,LINK2,MULTICAST> mtu 552 inet 199.84.157.6 --> 199.84.157.65 netmask 0xffffff00 sl6: flags=c011<UP,POINTOPOINT,LINK2,MULTICAST> mtu 552 inet 199.84.157.7 --> 199.84.157.78 netmask 0xffffff00 sl7: flags=c010<POINTOPOINT,LINK2,MULTICAST> mtu 552 sl8: flags=d011<UP,POINTOPOINT,LINK0,LINK2,MULTICAST> mtu 552 inet 199.84.157.9 --> 199.84.157.22 netmask 0xffffff00 sl9: flags=c010<POINTOPOINT,LINK2,MULTICAST> mtu 552 sl10: flags=c010<POINTOPOINT,LINK2,MULTICAST> mtu 552 sl11: flags=c010<POINTOPOINT,LINK2,MULTICAST> mtu 552 sl12: flags=d011<UP,POINTOPOINT,LINK0,LINK2,MULTICAST> mtu 552 inet 199.84.157.13 --> 199.84.157.155 netmask 0xffffff00 sl13: flags=c011<UP,POINTOPOINT,LINK2,MULTICAST> mtu 552 inet 199.84.157.14 --> 199.84.157.45 netmask 0xffffff00 sl14: flags=c010<POINTOPOINT,LINK2,MULTICAST> mtu 552 sl15: flags=c010<POINTOPOINT,LINK2,MULTICAST> mtu 552 tun0: flags=51<UP,POINTOPOINT,RUNNING> mtu 1500 inet 199.84.158.1 --> 199.84.158.16 netmask 0xffffff00 tun1: flags=10<POINTOPOINT> mtu 1500 tun2: flags=10<POINTOPOINT> mtu 1500 tun3: flags=10<POINTOPOINT> mtu 1500 tun4: flags=10<POINTOPOINT> mtu 1500 tun5: flags=10<POINTOPOINT> mtu 1500 tun6: flags=10<POINTOPOINT> mtu 1500 tun7: flags=10<POINTOPOINT> mtu 1500 tun8: flags=10<POINTOPOINT> mtu 1500 tun9: flags=10<POINTOPOINT> mtu 1500 tun10: flags=10<POINTOPOINT> mtu 1500 tun11: flags=10<POINTOPOINT> mtu 1500 tun12: flags=10<POINTOPOINT> mtu 1500 tun13: flags=10<POINTOPOINT> mtu 1500 Andrew Webster - captain@pubnix.net - http://www.pubnix.net PubNIX Montreal - Connected to the world - Branche au monde 514-990-5911 - P.O.
