Several of the ports I fixed had an explicit section in configure
which overrode the user-passed CFLAGS.  They'd go to the trouble of
testing the user value, then throw it away :-) That might be what's
happening here, or it could just be a spurious mention of the string
"-O2" which isn't actually used in a compiler invocation.
