Hi I am considering building a dual Opteron number-cruncher using FreeBSD 5.3 instead of Linux, and I have three questions which I haven't been able to find answers to on the site. 1) Will I be able to link reliably against Linux libraries when the source isn't available e.g. Some of those ones here... http://www.amd.com/us-en/Processors/ProductInformation/0,,30_118_8796_11869% 5E11880,00.html 2) Is there any performance penalty to (1) if I can. 3) Is the 64 bit AMD port of FreeBSD stable? Many thanks for your time Michael _/_/_/_/_/_/_/_/_/_/_/_/_/_/_/_/_/_/_/_/_/_/_/_/_/_/_/_/_/_/_/_/_/_/_/_/_/_/ _/ _/ _/_/_/ Hopkins Research Ltd _/ _/ _/ _/ _/_/_/_/ _/_/_/ http://www.hopkins-research.com _/ _/ _/ _/ _/ _/ _/ _/ 'touch the future' _/_/_/_/_/_/_/_/_/_/_/_/_/_/_/_/_/_/_/_/_/_/_/_/_/_/_/_/_/_/_/_/_/_/_/_/_/_/
