So its probably a POS card, and I'll have to get another one. Its rather funny though, that both of the S3 Trio64V+ cards I tried didn't work. I also tried an S3 Vision964 and that caused a machine check. So the only card I've gotten to work with X11 so far is the Matrox Mystique (1064SG). Not even the stock Trio 64V+. Anyway, I'll probably end up getting a used ATI Rage Something out of the junkpile and try that, hopefully it will be OK. Thanks for the help, Dan
