I guess it's because I haven't any idea how the dependency idea works, but at least for me, gnome_upgrade is pretty much a dea item. Every time I approach it, it does the same thing: deletes all the stuff it's just installed (about half of what's needed) then rebuilds everything ti just deleted, then tells me it's done, and it's finshed, although that's not nearly true. I know it's because I am misusing, somehow, the script, but I just don't understand the depencency tools very much, and so when it asks me, just about the only thing I can do is hit return. Apparently, that's a bad thing to do, at least in my case.
